Update:  Introduction of border controls for Sweden from 4 January 2016...

The Swedish government imposed border controls from 4 January onwards on everyone entering Sweden because of the refugee problem.  Direct Copenhagen-Stockholm trains were temporarily suspended but I'm pleased to say they resumed again in early March.  In Copenhagen, passport control for these SJ2000 trains now takes place before boarding - you are asked to arrive 30 minutes before departure.  There is no passport control in Stockholm when boarding a southbound Stockholm to Copenhagen train.

City centre to city centre with internet available on board and laptop power sockets at every seat.  Introduced in 1990, SJ 2000 (formerly branded X 2000 and also known as X2) is Sweden's 200km/h (125mph) tilting high-speed train, operating on the Copenhagen-Malmo-Stockholm and Gothenburg-Stockholm routes amongst others.  SJ2000s are fast, smooth and quiet, but you won't notice the train tilting unless you look carefully at the angle of the train compared to the scenery!
