Ferry booking tips...
-
On the
short sea channel crossing from Dover, you'll
usually find
Norfolk Line to Dunkirk significantly cheaper than
ferries to Calais;
-
Don't
forget the direct ferries to Spain:
Brittany Ferries
sail from Plymouth & Portsmouth to Santander &
Bilbao.
-
There
are now no ferries from the UK to Norway or Sweden,
but
DFDS Seaways have a ferry to Esbjerg
in Denmark & a ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo.
-
For the
cheap train & ferry tickets from London to Ireland,
see the Ireland page, and
to Amsterdam, see the
Netherlands page.
-
My own
favourite ferries:
Brittany Ferries
or
DFDS Seaways to anywhere;
Stena Line Harwich to Hoek van
Holland,
Irish Ferries 'Ulysses' from Holyhead to Dublin.
You can also
book direct with these UK ferry operators...
Norfolk Line Dover-Dunkirk (often much
cheaper than Dover-Calais, but no foot passengers),
Liverpool-Dublin/Belfast
Stena Line
Harwich-Hoek van Holland, Holyhead-Dublin,
Fishguard-Rosslare
P&O Ferries Dover-Calais, Hull-Rotterdam, Hull-Zeebrugge
DFDS Seaways Newcastle-Amsterdam,
Harwich-Denmark
Brittany Ferries Poole/Plymouth/Portsmouth to
France, Plymouth/Portsmouth to Spain
Condor Ferries to Jersey & Guernsey
Irish Ferries to Dublin & Rosslare in Ireland
