Eurostar ski train winter 2021/22
-
If you fancy skiing without the plane, no problem. There's a weekly Eurostar ski train from London to the French Alps, making it easy to reach the resorts at Tignes, La Plagne, Les Arcs, Val d’isere, Les Menuires & Meribel. It's less hassle than 7 hours of airports, flights & a 3-hour bus transfer from the airport and far better for the environment.

This year the Eurostar Ski train = TravelSki Express: The Eurostar ski trains from London to the French Alps didn't run in winter 2020/21. But for Winter 2021-22 one train a week will run, financed by Compagnie des Alpes who own many of the resorts in the French Alps. In effect it's a charter train, branded Travelski Express and only sold as part of a package with accommodation & transfers sold at www.uk.travelski.com.

Which resort to choose?
Les Arcs is the easiest to reach, it's linked by a 10-minute funicular (mountain railway) ride up the mountain from Bourg St Maurice railway station at the foot of the mountain. It's a modern resort, good for beginners, and billed as 'home of the snowboard'.
Val d'Isère is a well-known resort higher up the valley, better for intermediate and advanced skiers than beginners.
Méribel is a big ski city with many British visitors.
La Plagne is a series of picturesque villages and tree-lined pistes.
